Places
Over the years, CBC Day Camp visited many thrilling and entertaining places. Here we have listed some of the most memorable places CBC Day Camp visited!
Calvary Bible Church
http://www.calvarybiblechurch.org
As the central hub of the CBC Day Camp, Calvary Bible Church is where the majority of our time was spent looking after those little rascals known as Campers. Activities included: Roll Call, Bible Time, Craft Time, Game Time, Lunch Time, and Free Time.
Pickwick Pool
http://www.pickwickcenter.com
Located right next door to CBC Day Camp, the Pickwick Pool was only a short walk to relief from the summer heat! Pickwick Pool also offered Ping-Pong tables, several video games, a jukebox and free cups of ice from the snack bar when the water just wasn't enough.
Skateland
http://www.skateland.net
Located in NorthRidge, Skateland filled many Tuesday mornings with hours of fun filled roller skating, couples skating, backwards skating and the Hokey Pokey. Skateland also offered a great selection of the latest video games like Pac-Man and Donkey Kong! When you got hungry, the snack/food bar always had something that would do the trick. And always, free cups of ice were available for those demanding Campers!
Oasis Park
[No Known Website]
Oasis Park provided a great alternative to the Pickwick Pool. Oasis Park offered a pool (stay off the ropes!), a picnic area, and yes, a food area where you could get free cups of ice for your Campers.
Eaton Canyon

Eaton Canyon was a great place to take the Campers to for a nice long hike. With a nature museum included, Eaton Canyon did the job in keeping the Campers entertained and active.
Castaic Lake

Another great water getaway CBC Day Camp visited was Castaic Lake. You never can get a kid around too much water.
California Beaches
http://beaches.co.la.ca.us/BandH/Beaches/Main.htm
Pack up those Smart & Final sodas and snacks everyone, were off to one of California's beautiful beaches! (e.g. Santa Monica, Will Rogers, Zuma) Every Wednesday was Beach Day at CBC Day Camp. In addition to the beach, CBCDC Counselors would tend the snack bar chest filled with various sodas and snacks, just in case parents didn't pack enough food for the Campers. Sorry Campers, no ice here.
Chuck E. Cheese's
http://www.chuckecheese.com
Chuck E. Cheese's, where a kid can be a kid! Staff, Counselors and Campers alike found hours of fun eating pizza and playing great games all courtesy of one famous rat named Chuck E. Cheese!
Knott's Berry Farm
http://www.knotts.com
Welcome one and all, ya'll come have a ball. Knott's Berry Farm was one of the many amusement parks that you could look forward to going to each summer. Filled with roller-coasters, a log ride, a parachute ride and more, a whole day could be filled without some kid saying he was bored. Camp Snoopy was also available for the little ones! Free ice anyone?
Disneyland
http://disney.go.com/disneyland
M... I... C... K... E... Y... M... O... U... S... E...!
Never a disappointment, Disneyland could dish up hours of amusement for any age. Best of all, Counselors got to stay at the park while the Staff took the Campers back to church to be picked up by their parents!
Magic Mountain
http://www.sixflags.com/magicmountain
Another great amusement park CBC Day Camp visited at least once a summer was Magic Mountain. Filled with roller coasters, there was at least one ride that could give anyone a run for their money. Let's just see how many times we can go on that White Water Rafting ride!!!
SeaWorld
http://www.seaworld.com/seaworld/sw_california/swcframe.html
One year, CBC Day Camp got up the courage to make the trek down to San Diego for a sleep over so we could go to SeaWorld! Besides Laura Tooley finding half an earwig in her half eaten hamburger, most had a lot of fun watching all the different kinds of sea-life perform.
Marineland
http://www.ziggy1.com/marinel.htm
Sadly, one of the great marine parks that CBC Day Camp visited no longer exists. Marineland served as a great nearby version of Sea World where whale and dolphin shows were abundant. Anyone remember buying fish to feed to the dolphins or getting splashed by a killer whale?
Raging Waters
http://www.ragingwaters.com
Filled with great water rides including the massive wave machine, Staff, Counselors and Campers alike found many ways to keep cool in the summer heat at Raging Waters. An ever abundant supply of free ice was also available at the snack bar to keep Campers at bay.
Universal Studios
http://www.universalstudios.com/unicity2/ush.html
Lights, camera, action! It's time for the cast of CBC Day Camp to participate in such great shows as Frankenstein's Castle, Conan The Barbarian, Jaws, a flash flood, the rotating ice tunnel and Battlestar Galactica! Other highlights found in Universal Studios included learning how to draw Woody Woodpecker, the Back To The Future Car, and those great ice cream waffle cones!
Travel Town
http://www.cityofla.org/RAP/grifmet/tt/index.htm
http://www.scsra.org/~scsra/ttown/
Located nearby in Griffith Park, Travel Town supplied an ample amount of old trains for Campers to look at and climb on.
Griffith Observatory
http://www.griffithobs.org
Also located in Griffith Park was Griffith Observatory. At the observatory you could learn about the planets and stars as well as watch a great laser show!
Los Angeles Zoo
http://www.lazoo.org
Animals, animals and more animals. CBC Day Camp just couldn't get enough of those animals (or cups of free ice) at the Los Angeles Zoo!
